A STORY ABOUT TRUTH & JUDGMENT

SCARS is a grounded sci-fi cinematic universe set in the near future. The world is similar to ours today, but with a twist. Whenever a person tells a lie, a scar appears somewhere on their body. The placement is unpredictable, but the severity of the scar always matches the severity of the lie.

The initial short film is based on a viral reddit.com writing prompt, but SCARS is designed as an expansive story universe.

What if?

If everyone on
the planet had these scars,

How Would you treat
people?

Especially When

Money can always buy purity.

THE STORYVERSE

At its core, SCARS explores the value of truth in a world where dishonesty carries a visible, physical cost. The original film centers on honesty, perception, and the danger of judging others at face value, but these ideas are simply the foundation.

Built with a clearly defined framework and scalable mythology, SCARS is a flexible sandbox where each new story reveals a different facet of the world, allowing the universe to expand organically across film, episodic, and emerging platforms.

We mapped out every possibility from AR, podcasts, character blogs, to live activations. Sadly, many ideas I loved didn’t make it due to time and budget.

THE HANDBOOK

We’ve built a comprehensive (80-pages!) Universe Handbook that lays out everything from slang to fashion, tech, and social hierarchy. It’s basically a creative field manual for anyone who wants to play in the SCARS sandbox. By giving creators that foundation, we’re inviting them to expand the world in ways we might never have imagined.

SCARS UNIVERSE

WHAT'S NEXT

Set in the same universe, but focused on completely new characters and a new storyline. THE QUIET FABRIC is a story about family, forgiveness, and the fragile cost of truth. At its core, it’s a confrontation between two sisters, one recently released from prison for a crime she didn’t commit, and the other who let her take the fall.
